The 2017 BAC Craft award for Best CMU Project was given Local #1 for the Simley High School project in Inver Grove Heights.
This addition was built on the North Side of the school with the centerpiece being a major auditorium expansion with increased seating from 300 to 750. Beyond the auditorium, this expansion created more office space as well as practice rooms for the band and choir.
This project used a range masonry styles, unit sizes, and materials. The design used 30,000 face brick and 50,000 concrete blocks arranged in stack bond and ashlar patterns.
B&D Masonry is proud to be the Signatory Contractor of this project.
The BAC Craft Awards Program was established in 1986 and has saluted Local Unions and workers for excellence in the trades and service to their communities.
